My husband and I first met Claire Brown approximately 17 years ago when we bought our Maison Secondaire. A year ago, we reluctantly decided that the time had come to sell our house. Although Claire had not worked for Leggets immobilier for very long, we knew the time was right for us to sell, because we had the perfect person as an agent, knowing that Claire is honest, trustworthy and caring. Every part of the selling process was dealt with in a professional manner, from the excellent photographs, taking clients to the house, and dealing with the numerous agencies. All of this made it so much easier with us being in the UK, and Claire was in touch regularly by email, whatsapp and phone. We did have a problem when the first buyer/ sale fell through, but Claire quickly found another buyer who was perfect for the property. Claire is very conscientious and really does go 'over and above' for her clients, so the final signing at the notaires went smoothly.

We reluctantly decided to sell our house in France and contacted Leggets, and our agent Claire Brown was extremely helpful from start to finish. Recommendations to present the property to the best effect and supporting photography gave a very impressive listing, together with sound advice for the sale price.. The property was sold in our absence after just one day of being listed, thanks to Leggets and their agent Claire. Once the sale had been agreed the service continued to be first class and we were kept updated by e-mail as the buyers progressed with their arrangements. The final closure with the notaire went like clockwork as Claire had ensured that all of the paperwork was in order. A first class service.

I have bought and sold several homes in France and this agent was recommended by someone. The house was already on the market through a couple of agents and the price was suggested by them. Your agent didn't have a good thing to say about our house. She asked my how much I paid a year and a half ago.. I said it was non of her business.. I can find out you know she said! and she did. She then emailed me saying how much id paid and that I should get advice from a notaire about capital gains despite it being my only home and my not having lived in the UK for years...She told me it was too expensive as well.. which I knew already but it was never going to be cheap as chips! After receiving yet another horrible message from her and seeing the advert which had not good word to say about the house I asked to remove the advert. I filled in the form and sent it to head office. I called head office and they persuaded me to drop her as an agent, and they would find someone else. They havent!.. This is a couple of weeks later and the house still sits there with the most awful description... I really can't be bothered now... I thought you were a good agency but am really upset. The house is lovely, just a walk from the town and suitable for two ponies or a small holding. its a few hundred meters from a river with fresh watercress, open country walks all around and very little traffic... completely renovated but a home not a chocolate holiday home.

Professional approach to our house sale. Impressed Leggetts recommend money transfer through Lumon [previously unfamiliar with them] This took the anxiety of money transfer to UK. Let down at the end by 2 mistakes by notaire delaying process and causing anxiety!

Overall we were pleased with the service that Leggett provided. We bought through Leggett but we hadn't realised that selling in France is a lot more complicated than buying France. We were guided through the potential pitfalls by our agent RL who went out of her way to help us - even picking up documents for us when our French let us down.
